Non surgical cosmetic procedures

In Australia and New Zealand sunlight accelerates the appearance of skin ageing. These skin problems include wrinkles, lines and creases, freckles, liver spots, and broken or burst capillaries. Cosmetic surgery or a non surgical facelift to reduce the appearance of ageing used to be just for celebrities. However as prices for cosmetic treatments reduce non surgical facelift procedures such as Botox, Collagen, and Restylane, Aquamid, Hylaform and cosmetic surgery techniques such as eye lifts, breast enlargements, facelifts and liposuction are all becoming commonplace now. Many people now realise that the same cosmetic treatments are within their price range and are electing to pay for treatments such as non surgical facelifts to improve their looks.

Laser eye surgery (LASIK, LASEK, PRK, WAVEFRONT LASIK, ALK, INTRALASIK)
Laser eye surgery is a group of surgical techniques intended to improve a person's eyesight by permanently changing the shape of the cornea, the clear covering over the coloured iris of the eye, using a focused laser beam of light of a specific wavelength. The two most popular laser eye surgery techniques are LASIK (Laser In-situ Keratomileusis), sometimes referred to as LASIX and PRK (Photo refractive Keratectomy) although there are other lesser known types of laser eye surgery such as the following. INTRALASIK, also called "all laser LASIK", LASEK (laser epithelial keratomileusis) a relatively new technical variation of PRK and LASEK also called epithelial LASIK or E-LASIK.

Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal is achieved by focusing a laser beam of light of a specific wavelength from a small handpiece into the surface of the skin. The laser light is absorbed by dark material in the skin such as hair pigment (melanin). This absorbtion of laser light causes thermal damage to the hair follicle while the skin tissue surrounding the hair should remain unaffected. This technique is referred to as "selective photothermolysis".
